EU corrects platinum code in Russia sanctions rules
The European Union corrected a customs-code reference covering platinum in its Russia sanctions rules, replacing an erroneous code in Council Regulation (EU) 2026/506 through a corrigendum published Aug. 11.
BRUSSELS, August 11, 2026 — The European Union corrected a customs-code reference covering platinum in its Russia sanctions rules, replacing an erroneous code in Council Regulation (EU) 2026/506.
The correction changes one of the exceptions in the entry for CN heading Ex 7110, which covers platinum in unwrought, semi-manufactured or powder form. The text now excludes CN codes 7110 21 and 7110 29. The original version incorrectly cited 7210 29 instead of 7110 29.
The corrected entry appears in Annex VI of the regulation, which amended Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures linked to Russia’s actions destabilizing Ukraine. The underlying regulation was published April 23 and is in force.
The corrigendum is narrow, but the corrected numerical identifier is relevant to customs classification and sanctions-list maintenance. Compliance teams using the original text may need to account for the amended reference when screening goods covered by the platinum entry.
