Switzerland removes LOGARCHEO S.A. from Iraq sanctions list following UN delisting
Switzerland has removed LOGARCHEO S.A. from its Iraq sanctions list following a United Nations Security Council decision to delist the Swiss-based company, with the change taking effect Oct. 5.
BERN, October 7, 2026 — The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) announced an update to its SESAM sanctions database under the Ordinance on Economic Measures against the Republic of Iraq (SR 946.206), reflecting amendments adopted by the United Nations Security Council's 1518 Sanctions Committee.
The amendment follows the committee's Oct. 5 decision to remove LOGARCHEO S.A., formerly known as LOGARCHEO AG, from its sanctions list. The company, identified by UN reference IQe.200, had been subject to sanctions since April 26, 2004.
According to the UN notification, LOGARCHEO S.A. was registered at Chemin du Carmel, 1661 Le Paquier-Montbarry, Switzerland, under federal registration number CH21704314233.
The removal ends the company's designation under the UN Iraq sanctions regime and its corresponding listing under Switzerland's implementing measures. Financial institutions and other entities conducting sanctions screening should update their records to reflect the change, while continuing to assess any other applicable restrictions.
Switzerland's 2016 Ordinance on the Automatic Application of United Nations Security Council Sanctions Lists provides for amendments to UN sanctions lists to take effect domestically without delay. SECO published the latest Iraq sanctions list amendment Oct. 7, specifying an effective date of Oct. 5.
The Iraq sanctions regime, established following Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait and subsequently revised through UN Security Council resolutions 1483 (2003) and 1518 (2003), includes targeted financial restrictions against designated individuals and entities associated with the former Iraqi regime.
The broader Swiss sanctions framework concerning Iraq remains in force, including applicable asset-freezing measures, arms restrictions and prohibitions relating to unlawfully removed Iraqi cultural property.
