WASHINGTON, January 13, 2026 — The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control added the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood and Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood to the Specially Designated Nationals List under counterterrorism authorities. OFAC also added Lebanese national Muhammad Fawzi Taqqosh, who the listing links to the Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood.

The three organizations were designated under Executive Order 13224, as amended by Executive Order 13886. The Egyptian and Jordanian branches were listed as specially designated global terrorists and were each identified in the listing as linked to Hamas.

The Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood was listed as both a foreign terrorist organization and a specially designated global terrorist. OFAC’s entry for Taqqosh states he is a Lebanese national born in 1973 in Beirut and cites secondary sanctions risk under Section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224, as amended.
