Firms and vessels tied to Iranian oil exports designated by OFAC
OFAC on Jan. 23 designated eight companies and nine vessels linked to Iranian oil and petroleum shipments and issued Iran-related General License T. The sanctions took effect that day through updates to the SDN List.
WASHINGTON, January 23, 2026 — The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated eight companies and added nine vessels to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List under Executive Order 13902, targeting what it described as a network supporting Iranian oil and petroleum exports. OFAC also issued Iran-related General License T, authorizing limited safety and environmental transactions and the offloading of cargo involving certain persons or vessels blocked on Jan. 23, 2026.
The newly designated companies are Aayat Ship Management Private Limited of India, Benoil Shipping Inc of Liberia, Black Stone Oil and Gas of Oman, Galeran Service Corp of Seychelles, Horizon Harvest Shipping LLC of the United Arab Emirates, Longevity Shipping Limited of the Marshall Islands, Odyssey Marine Inc. of the Marshall Islands, and Trade Bridge Global Inc. of the Marshall Islands. OFAC said the firms operated in the petroleum sector of the Iranian economy.
The vessels added to the SDN List are the AL DIAB II, AQUA SPIRIT, AVON, CESARIA, CHIRON 5, EASTERN HERO, KEEL, LONGEVITY 7 and SEA BIRD. OFAC linked each vessel to one of the newly designated companies and said the ships had transported Iranian crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas, condensate, methanol, naphtha or other petroleum products to foreign markets.
According to the Treasury announcement, the action targeted shadow fleet vessels and their owners or managers involved in moving Iranian energy shipments, including cargoes delivered in 2025 and into 2026. The agency said the designations were made pursuant to Executive Order 13902, which targets Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sectors.
OFAC said all property and interests in property of the designated or blocked persons that are in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons are blocked and must be reported to the agency. It also said entities owned 50% or more by one or more blocked persons are also blocked, unless exempt or authorized.
